In Memory Of
Winner: Barrie Fenton
Barrie Fenton joined the scouts as a young boy – and it pretty much became his life.
Before working his way up to county commissioner, he organised charity dos, was the life and soul at jamborees and even had a scout hut named after him in Carbis Bay.
On top of that – Barrie was a volunteer for Riding for the Disabled, the RNLI and St Ives Rotary Club.
Sadly – a lot of that amazing work had to stop when Barrie was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease. He recently lost his battle at the age of eighty-five.
Laura nominated her granddad for what she calls years of commitment with no official recognition.
