The Cornish Coastal Rescue Award

Winner: Clive Palfrey

Clive was nominated for the Cornish Coastal Rescue Award – not just for being involved in major rescues off our coast – but for his tireless efforts to keep fishermen safe at sea.

As a senior helmsman for Looe lifeboat, Clive has been involved in full-scale search operations like the JMT and Solstice. Tragically – both ended in fatalities.

Now he spends as much time as he can promoting special lifejackets with EPIRBs; a beacon that lets the emergency services know exactly where you are in the water.

Clive even set up the hashtag Wear It For Them campaign to spread the message on social media.
