In Memory Of Award

Some people contribute to benefit others in so many quiet, understated ways, that it’s only when they’ve left this world we really understand the value of what they’ve achieved.

It might be their life’s work for a charity, or a sports association; a carer, holding a ministry, a milkman, postman or a teacher; perhaps, they’ve been a community champion or run a voluntary group dedicating many hours of their time to improve the lives of other people.

This award is a way of remembering them for all the right reasons and celebrating their life’s achievements.

About The Sponsor

Cornwall Hospice Care – Care and support for those affected by terminal illnesses in Cornwall

Cornwall Hospice Care provides specialist support for families living with terminal illnesses.

A Cornish 24/7 charity, the clinical teams support in and out patients at Mount Edgcumbe Hospice in St Austell and St Julia’s Hospice in Hayle, in the community at weekly Neighbourhood Hubs and in Cornwall’s hospitals.

The charity also runs a 24 hour advice line for other healthcare professionals.  It costs over £5 million to provide this specialist care and only 20% is funded through an NHS contribution. The other £4 million is raised via the support of the people of Cornwall who leave the charity legacies, attend fundraising events, play the charity’s lottery and donate to and visit Cornwall Hospice Care’s 33 shops.
